The world of domaineering is as exciting as it can get for you. You might start enthusiastically, but barely make it before you give up or you could just rock. What determines your positive results? What ensures that you become successful in the domain or website flipping business? Skill sets. Assuming you would start on your own without any help from any quarter whatsoever, all you would need is a set of skills that you should be able to master.

Let me explain.

Let’s say you have some good designing skills. You will be able to put up wordpress based blogs, websites, e-commerce sites or even database driven sites which are done using MySQL and PHP. However, you will need someone to manage these sites, upload images, tweak it time and again and much more.

Firstly, you will need someone to spend time just looking for niche based designs for your site or blog — templates and themes for sites and blogs respectively. Trust me, it takes considerable amount of time just to pick up the right theme.

You will have to customize it, add a logo, and perform the necessary settings for the site/blog. You will then need to add content and write some more. If you are a designer, you will have a hard time writing content; but you will see that you can’t afford a gjost-writer too.

See the skills part kicking in? You will have to learn. You can’t help it. There will new tools being introduced each day – web-based and otherwise—that you will have to be on top of.

One rewarding aspect of domain flipping or website flipping is the fact that your skill sets just expand. There are no two-ways around it. It is bound to happen. You become proficient in a lot of things but might not necessarily master them all.

Are you game for it, Champ?
